Disappointing stay
We were really looking forward to our stay at the Dalmahoy, however we were disappointed and here’s why:
Ordered sandwiches for lunch which came with - no cutlery or napkins and had to ask for these
Dinner was ok, however my risotto was served on a dinner plate which meant it got cold quickly. The person who served us couldn’t find our table and we were informed by him that he didn’t normally serve in the restaurant.
We asked to have our pudding in the lounge area as the restaurant was really warm - we were told that wouldn’t be a problem, however when we went to order we were told there wasn’t enough staff to serve us there. I went to the main desk and Alan from there listened to my issue and stepped in to serve us our pudding and drinks - many thanks to him.
Cheese and biscuits was £14 and all that came was 3 bits of cheese, a few crackers, some chutney and a little quince. Not good value for money, would have thought you’d get some fruit with it and I’ve had a better cheese board at a 3 star hotel.
Drinks in the bar after dinner and again we were informed by the staff member that he didn’t normally work there and the drinks tasted like they were watered down.
This could be an amazing hotel, as it sits in beautiful grounds, but for the small details that they just didn’t get right.
